Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites: The Ultimate Sweet-and-Spicy Seafood Recipe

These Air Fryer Bang Bang Salmon Bites are tender on the inside, lightly crispy on the outside, and packed with sweet-and-spicy flavor. Bite-sized salmon pieces are seasoned, coated in a creamy homemade bang bang sauce, then air fried to perfection. They’re great as an appetizer, over rice, or tucked into tacos—and you can also bake them if you prefer.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon

  • pounds salmon (about 4 fillets), skins removed and cut into 1-inch bites

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Bang Bang Sauce

  • 1 cup (232 g) mayonnaise

  • ½ cup (132 g) Thai sweet chili sauce

  • 2 teaspoons Sriracha (more to taste)

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • Chives, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add the salmon bites and gently toss until evenly coated.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, and honey.

  5. Pour half of the bang bang sauce into another bowl and reserve for serving.

  6. Toss the seasoned salmon bites in the remaining sauce.

  7. Working in batches, arrange salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd.

  8. Air fry for 4–5 minutes, flip, then cook another 4–5 minutes, or until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 140–145°F (60–63°C).

  9. Transfer salmon to a plate, drizzle with the reserved bang bang sauce, and garnish with chives.

Notes

  • Cut salmon into evenly sized pieces so they cook at the same rate.

  • Use parchment liners with holes to reduce sticking and make cleanup easier.

  • For extra crisp edges, lightly spray the basket with oil before adding salmon.

  • If baking instead, bake at 425°F (220°C) for about 12–15 minutes, flipping once.
