These Air Fryer BBQ Ribs are tender, juicy, and coated in sticky BBQ sauce with lightly crisp edges—all ready in about 30 minutes. No oven, no grill, and no long cooking times required. Perfect for busy weeknights when you’re craving classic BBQ flavor fast.
About 2½ pounds rack of ribs (St. Louis–style preferred, baby back works too)
4 tablespoons your favorite dry BBQ rub
½ cup your favorite BBQ sauce (plus more for serving)
Cooking spray
Remove the silver skin (membrane) from the back of the ribs.
Turn ribs over, loosen one corner of the membrane, grip it with a paper towel, and pull until fully removed.
Cut ribs into sections that will fit comfortably in your air fryer basket.
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray.
Generously coat the ribs with the dry BBQ rub, pressing it into all sides.
Place ribs meat-side down in the air fryer basket. Slight overlap is okay.
Air fry for 15 minutes.
Flip the ribs and cook for another 10 minutes.
Increase the temperature to 400°F (205°C), brush ribs with BBQ sauce, and cook an additional 2–4 minutes, until caramelized.
Watch closely to prevent burning.
Remove ribs and serve with extra BBQ sauce and your favorite sides.
Removing the membrane helps the ribs become more tender.
Use thicker rib sections for juicier results.
Add sauce at the end to avoid burning from sugars in BBQ sauce.
Cooking times may vary depending on rib thickness and air fryer size.
