These Air Fryer Fried Pickles are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer—crispy, golden, and full of tangy flavor without the heaviness of deep frying. Perfect for parties, game days, or an easy snack, they deliver that classic crunch with far less grease.
1 cup sliced pickles
2 large eggs
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon hot sauce (such as Tabasco)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
¼ cup sour cream
¼ cup mayonnaise
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ cup finely minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried dill (optional)
Dry the pickles:
Lay the pickle slices between paper towels and gently pat dry. Let them sit for a few minutes to remove excess moisture.
Prepare the coating:
In one shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, flour, hot sauce, salt, and pepper.
In another shallow dish, add the panko breadcrumbs.
Bread the pickles:
Dip each pickle slice into the egg mixture, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs. Place on a baking sheet.
Air fry:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange pickles in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between each one. Lightly spray with oil.
Air fry for 5–7 minutes, flip, spray again, and cook another 5–7 minutes until crispy and golden.
Make the dip:
In a small bowl, combine all dip ingredients until smooth and well mixed.
Serve:
Serve the fried pickles hot with the creamy dip on the side.
Drying the pickles thoroughly is essential for a crunchy coating.
Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed.
For extra heat, add cayenne or extra hot sauce to the egg mixture.
