Air Fryer Grilled Chicken: The Ultimate Guide to Juicy, Flavorful, and Easy Chicken at Home

This Air Fryer Grilled Chicken is simple, juicy, and full of classic savory flavor. With just a handful of pantry spices and olive oil, you’ll get perfectly cooked chicken breasts that are great for meal prep, salads, wraps, or an easy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • lbs chicken breast portions (about four 4-oz pieces)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • 1¾ teaspoons salt

  • 1¼ teaspoons paprika

Instructions

  • Prep the Chicken
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl.

  • Mix the Seasoning
In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and paprika.

  • Season the Chicken
Add olive oil to the chicken and toss until evenly coated. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the chicken and rub it in well on all sides.

  • Prepare the Air Fryer
Lightly brush the bottom of the air fryer basket with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  • Arrange
Place the chicken breasts in the basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece.

  • Cook
Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken and cook for another 10 minutes.

  • Check for Doneness
Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Chicken is done at 165°F (74°C). If needed, continue cooking in 3-minute intervals.

  • Rest & Serve
Let the chicken rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing or serving to keep it juicy.

Notes

  • Even thickness matters: Pound thicker chicken breasts slightly so they cook evenly.

  • Don’t overcrowd: Cook in batches if needed to ensure proper airflow.

  • Resting is key: Resting allows the juices to redistribute, keeping the chicken moist.

  • Flavor boost: Add a squeeze of lemon or a sprinkle of fresh herbs before serving.
