These Air Fryer Hot Honey Butter Chicken Wings are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated in a sweet-and-spicy honey butter sauce with smoky paprika flavor. They’re fast, easy, and perfect for parties, game day, or a quick appetizer.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 lbs chicken wings, split into flats and drummettes
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
⅓ cup hot sauce
½ cup honey
¾ teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste)
In a large bowl, whisk together olive oil, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Add the chicken wings and toss until fully coated.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange the wings in a single, even layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry for 12 minutes.
While the wings cook, prepare the sauce by whisking together melted butter, hot sauce, honey, and salt in a medium bowl. Taste and adjust salt if needed.
After 12 minutes, open the air fryer and brush the hot honey butter sauce generously on both sides of the wings.
Return wings to the air fryer and cook for 4 more minutes, until fully cooked and crispy.
Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side for dipping.
Pat wings dry before seasoning for extra crispiness.
Avoid overcrowding the basket—cook in batches if needed.
For extra heat, add a pinch of cayenne to the sauce.
For less spice, reduce the hot sauce and add more honey.
