This Air Fryer Steak with Garlic Butter is a simple 5-ingredient recipe that delivers juicy, perfectly cooked steak in just 17 minutes. Seasoned with classic salt and pepper, then finished with rich homemade garlic butter, it’s an easy restaurant-quality main dish—perfect when served with creamy mashed potatoes on the side.
2 striploin steaks (about 1-inch thick)
1 tablespoon canola oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons salted butter, room temperature
1 clove garlic, finely minced
1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
Remove the steaks from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes. Trim excess fat if desired.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5–10 minutes.
Rub both sides of the steaks with canola oil, then season generously with salt and pepper.
Place steaks in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
Cook for 10–14 minutes, depending on desired doneness:
10 minutes – Medium-rare
12 minutes – Medium
14 minutes – Medium-well
While the steaks cook, mix together the butter, garlic, and parsley in a small bowl.
Remove steaks from the air fryer and let them rest for 5–10 minutes.
Slice and serve topped with garlic butter, alongside mashed potatoes if desired.
Always bring steak to room temperature before cooking for even doneness.
Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130°F medium-rare, 140°F medium).
Let the steak rest—this keeps it juicy.
Add your favorite seasoning blend if you want extra flavor.
