6 large eggs
1 pound breakfast sausage
1 cup whole milk
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
1 refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet
Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
Cook Sausage
In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease and let cool for about 5 minutes.
Prepare the Crust
Unroll the crescent roll dough sheet and press it evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing any seams.
Layer Ingredients
Evenly sprinkle the cooked sausage over the dough. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Mix Egg Custard
In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, dried garlic, and dried onion.
Assemble
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layers.
Bake
Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
Serve
Let cool slightly before slicing into squares. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.
Let the casserole rest 5–10 minutes before cutting for cleaner slices.
Use freshly shredded cheese for better melting.
Add diced bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms for extra flavor.
Swap cheddar for mozzarella, pepper jack, or Colby Jack.
For make-ahead prep, assemble the night before, refrigerate, and bake in the morning.
