This Crispiest Air Fryer Gnocchi recipe is quick, easy, and unbelievably good. In under 15 minutes, you get gnocchi that are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It works with shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen gnocchi, making it a go-to appetizer, snack, or side dish for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb gnocchi (shelf-stable, refrigerated, or frozen – potato, cauliflower, or sweet potato)

  • 12 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • 23 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (199°C) and lightly grease the basket with olive oil spray.

  2. In a large bowl, toss the gnocchi with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.

    • If using frozen gnocchi, do not thaw.

  3. Add the seasoned gnocchi to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overlapping for maximum crispiness.

Shelf-Stable & Refrigerated Gnocchi

  • Air fry at 390°F for 11–14 minutes, shaking the basket every 4–5 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Frozen Gnocchi

  • Air fry at 390°F for 13–16 minutes, shaking every 4–5 minutes, until golden and crispy.

  1. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed.

  • Shake the basket regularly to crisp all sides evenly.

  • For extra crunch, add a light spray of oil halfway through cooking.

  • Garnish with extra Parmesan and fresh parsley for more flavor.
