Easy Air Fryer French Fries (Extra Crispy)

Easy Air Fryer French Fries (Extra Crispy)

These easy air fryer French fries are crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and made with very little oil. They’re a healthier alternative to deep-fried fries and come together quickly, making them perfect for a snack, side dish, or burger night at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb russet potatoes (2 large or 3 medium)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper (or to taste)

  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ⅛ teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  • Prep the Potatoes: Wash the potatoes well and peel if desired. Cut into even fries, about ¼–½ inch thick.

  • Season the Fries: Add the potatoes to a large bowl. Toss with olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until evenly coated.

  • Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  • Cook the Fries: Place fries in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 15–20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  • Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • Cut evenly: Uniform fries cook at the same rate.

  • Don’t overcrowd: Cook in batches if needed for best crispiness.

  • Soak for bonus crunch: Soak cut potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes, then dry thoroughly before seasoning.

  • Season after cooking: Add extra salt right after cooking for maximum flavor.
