Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds pork back ribs

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 2 teaspoons black pepper

  • ½ cup BBQ sauce

Instructions

  • Cut the rack of ribs into smaller sections so they fit comfortably in your air fryer basket.

  • Season all sides of the ribs generously with salt and black pepper.

  • Place the ribs meaty side down in the air fryer basket. Set the air fryer to 400°F (205°C) and cook for 20 minutes.

  • At the 10-minute mark, flip the ribs using tongs. Continue cooking for the remaining 10 minutes.

  • Check doneness with a meat thermometer. The internal temperature should reach at least 190°F (88°C) for tender ribs.

  • Brush the ribs with BBQ sauce and cook for 5 more minutes, meaty side up, at the same temperature.

  • Remove the ribs from the air fryer and let them rest for 5 minutes. Brush with additional BBQ sauce if desired, then serve.

Notes

  • Don’t overcrowd the basket—cook in batches if needed for even cooking.

  • Resting is key to allow juices to redistribute and keep the ribs moist.

  • Use your favorite BBQ sauce, sweet or smoky, to customize the flavor.

  • For extra caramelization, add 1–2 more minutes at the end, watching closely to avoid burning.
