Tender, golden chicken is smothered in a rich, creamy garlic herb sauce made from cream cheese and chicken broth.   • 8 oz cream cheese (block style), softened

  • 2 large chicken breasts

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3/4 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)

Instructions

1. Soften the cream cheese

Microwave the cream cheese until very soft. Cut into small cubes and set aside so it melts easily later.

2. Prepare the chicken

Slice the chicken breasts in half lengthwise to create 4 thinner pieces. Season both sides with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Cook the chicken

Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked (internal temp 165°F/74°C). Remove to a plate.

4. Sauté the onions

Reduce heat to medium. Add onions and cook for 5–7 minutes until soft and lightly browned.

5. Make the sauce

Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add chicken broth, cream cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Stir until smooth and creamy.

6. Combine

Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until heated through. Add extra broth if the sauce is too thick.

7. Garnish and serve

Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
