Ingredients

Scale

Chicken & Sauce

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • ¼ cup soy sauce

  • 3 tablespoons honey

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

  • ½ teaspoon red chili flakes (optional)

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Noodles & Garnish

  • 8 oz noodles (rice noodles or egg noodles)

  • 2 green onions, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Sauce
In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red chili flakes (if using). Stir until well combined and set aside.

  2. Coat the Chicken
Place the chicken pieces in a bowl and toss with the cornstarch until evenly coated. This helps create a lightly crisp exterior and thickens the sauce later.

  3. Heat the Oil
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the Chicken
Add the chicken to the hot skillet and cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked through.

  5. Add the Sauce
Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken. Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky and glossy.

  6. Cook the Noodles
While the sauce simmers, cook the noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

  7. Combine Everything
Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the sticky chicken. Toss well until the noodles are evenly coated with sauce.

  8. Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Chicken choice: Thighs stay juicier and more flavorful, while breasts are leaner—both work well.

  • Don’t overcrowd the pan: Cook chicken in batches if needed to get a nice golden color.

  • Adjust sweetness: Add more honey for a sweeter sauce or a splash of soy sauce for extra saltiness.

  • Add veggies: Bell peppers, snap peas, or broccoli are great additions for extra color and nutrition.

  • Spice level: Increase chili flakes or add a drizzle of chili oil if you like heat.
