Churro Saltine Toffee is the ultimate sweet-and-salty treat that comes together in minutes. Crisp saltine crackers are coated in buttery brown sugar toffee, topped with melted chocolate, and finished with a cinnamon-sugar churro twist. It’s crunchy, rich, and completely addictive—perfect for holidays, parties, or quick homemade gifts.
Saltine crackers (enough to cover the pan in one layer)
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup granulated sugar
Sea salt, for finishing
Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Arrange saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire baking sheet.
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together. Stir constantly until the mixture comes to a rolling boil.
Boil for 2–3 minutes, stirring continuously, until thickened.
Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the crackers.
Bake for 5–7 minutes, until bubbly.
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee.
Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly with a spatula.
In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over the melted chocolate.
Finish with a light sprinkle of sea salt.
Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces and enjoy.
Watch closely: Toffee can burn quickly, so keep an eye on it while baking.
Use parchment paper: This makes cleanup easier and prevents sticking.
Let it fully cool: Cooling allows the toffee to harden for clean breaks.
Extra churro flavor: Add a pinch of nutmeg to the cinnamon sugar.
Chocolate swap: Milk or dark chocolate chips work great too.
